Dress Challenge: Better Late than Not at All

Hi, all -- I was at a work related conference all weekend and didn't have time to post. But I did wear one dress (well, actually, skirt) outfit. And I'm also wearing a dress today.

I have loved seeing all the beautiful dresses and skirts on the forum. Brava for spring and summer wardrobes!

Bonus shots of the roses in the UBC garden, really in their glory now.

Why do I love wearing dresses? For all the reasons many of you have stated. Casual dresses are the best for summer at home days. Cool, easy to throw on, yet I feel presentable if I have to run a sudden errand. Fewer decisions.

Dressy dresses make me feel feminine and ready for fun, or perfectly protected (as the occasion demands.)

I wore #5 (tube skirt, again, will I ever let you go? NO!) with the sweater against the frigid AC. You can't see it, but on #6 I am actually swinging on a beautiful swing slung on an old oak on campus.

#7 is at home today. Yay for the tablecloth dress. Waving to my many forum dress twins and cousins.

Pretty photos, all !  Your dress looks are lovely :)  Chuckling at your tube skirt attachment issues ...;)

You look wonderful in dresses. I can understand your tube skirt attachment. As the waist widens, they still seem to fit. I got rid of pencil skirts but not tube skirts and am tempted to get more. The roses are glorious. Ours are barely starting to open up. Iris and peonies are still going strong.

    *carries off roses*
My favorite is the first- cause...red! I hear you re: tube skirts, nothing easier for weekend wear (except dresses)!

Great outfits! I like how the silver earrings, striped shirt and silver shoes work well with each other, even though it's broken up with the black skirt.

Lovely blue and white (Queen of Blues!) gingham dress.

    Gorgeous roses!

All good, but my fave is the 'tablecloth' dress. It just screams PERFECT SUMMER DAY!

You are up to the challenge! I like the tube skirt and can see why you want to keep it. It is a very versatile piece. Your check dress is a perfect summer dress. To me it reads as happy and carefree. The roses are quite beautiful!

Beautifully radiant as ALWAYS, Suz. Juts like those gorgeous flowers. Oozing sass and verve with the best of them.

Maybe we'll find a NAS replacement for that skirt ;)

Over and out. Very saw arms and wrists. Taking a forum break....

I am and we'll always be a fan of the tube skirt :) I think the sandals and long Cardi keep it very current and are so flattering on you!

And I adore the flower shots!

That tablecloth dress is divine, and so is the tube skirt outfit. And those roses! So pretty.

Lovely dress outfits, Suz. Such pretty roses, I love the vegetation in Vancouver, it is green and lush.

Great pics! You look radiant as always.

Nothing wrong with a tube skirt!

I really like how you combined the tube skirt with the vertical stripes. Gives is a whole new look. You should never give up that incredibly versatile skirt! What could be more homey than a tablecloth dress? You look fab! And the roses are beautiful!

  • karen13 replied 4 years ago

Those roses are so gorgeous - have you made it to Butchart Gardens yet? Love the conference outfit - polished but fun. You had me with the vertical stripes. And nothing says summer like gingham.

  • Bijou replied 4 years ago

I love the gingham dress, it is the perfect summer dress. Your tube skirt looks amazing on you, it is a piece that sits perfectly in that difficult category of "smart casual", I can see why this is a firm favourite. The roses are so pretty too, I love the lilac rose in particular.

Frigid AC is one reason i'm relucant to wear dress and skirt...you can cover your arms with a sweater, but what about your legs...anyway, that's me...
you on the other hand, look fab...especially like the tablecloth dress!

  • Laura replied 4 years ago

The gingham dress is sheer perfection on you, Suz. And long live the tube skirt!

  • RainB replied 4 years ago

You look fab! I wouldn’t give up that skirt either :)

  • RobinF replied 4 years ago

I can see why you love that skirt - I think I need one! Where do you get skirts like that? And the gingham dress is super cute on you.

  • Becky replied 4 years ago

It's easy to see how attached you'd get to such a flattering and versatile skirt. I'd like to find one like it. Love the red topper with that outfit. Beautiful roses!
