Cranberry wrap

I love burgundy but usually don't think of it as a statement, exactly. I'm not even sure it qualifies as such here. Even though my sweater is a bit brighter than burgundy, more of a cranberry colour. Anyway, this is my indoor version of Outfit #4 from today's post. I didn't have pants or a skirt with a dark red stripe, believe it or not, or even a top that could take that role, so I went with monochrome navy.

This Pure Amici sweater is one of the oldest items in my wardrobe and it is still going strong after more wears than I can count. A fabulous NAS purchase, one I worried a bit about at the time (even on sale, it was not cheap) but wow, has it proved its worth. I love it -- it's been worn to fancy dinners and to lounge around in at home or on retreats.

I know that burgundy NAS cardigan well. It was a top pick YEARS ago, and you wear it very elegantly, Suz! :)

The column of navy is easy and effective. Streamlined!

LOVE how that knit has lasted. Mind-blowing, actually.

(Your patterned Dries van Noten pants have red component - no? Could they work here - or are they too summery?)

    You look great in cranberry!

It is (was?) a good brand. I have a very old grey reptile print cashmere hoodie from them. It’s a snugger fit than I enjoy wearing these days, but I still wear it around the house! I have tried a couple of times to convince myself to give it away on the basis of that fit, but it’s too good. Maybe someday I’ll lose 15 lbs and favor a more fitted look again! LOL

Love!! That is “my” shade of red and apparently yours.

Cookie, yes -- cranberry's such a great colour with silver hair. I do like burgundy, too, but prefer the brighter versions.

Janet, thanks! And yes, I have wondered if the brand is still with us. I have not seen anything from them at NAS for years.

Angie, thanks! It is mind-blowing that the sweater has lasted. The first year, it did pill a bit, but I kept removing the pills and I washed it carefully and over time the pilling has pretty much stopped! And yes, the Dries pants would be perfect, but they are cotton-linen, so for me, strictly a summer pant! :)

Don't you love when a pricey purchase just lasts and lasts? It's a great feeling!

You look lovely as always in shades of blues and reds. I'm a big fan of column of color dressing with a colorful topper like you've done here. It's a classic, chic look that I never tire of and it's so easy to do which makes it a great fall back outfit combination when you can't think of what to wear.

I think the brand is still around; they popped up on a list of brands made in the U.S.

That cranberry/burgundy colour is so yummy, it looks great over the column of navy. Glad to hear that it has stood the test of time.

You look smashing in that very impressively long wearing cardigan Suz. Love your hair too!
