Drape and flow lite

I wore a version of #4 in today's blog post yesterday; and I'm wearing another version today (no pic, but skirt with cropped BR top).

The top in yesterday's outfit (very old, J.Crew) does not have the same degree of volume as in the example but I have left it untucked and loose in back and blousoned in front. Wore this for a Zoom presentation.

Earlier this week, I wore yet another version with high-volume cropped  jacket for a lunch date.

And yep, you read that right -- I've already worn the navy asymmetrical skirt THREE TIMES.  In one week. Yes, this fully illustrates my love for my newer items. But also --  this is the workhorse I did not know I needed. It's like an updated tube skirt. Casual (or dressy, as needs be!), easy, can curl up in it, has that little extra because of its shape.

I like how the asymmetry gives you movement even while standing still.

Just Fab!  I do love that skirt.

  • Suz replied 12 months ago

Vildy, right?  The effect of asymmetry is amazing.

I have long admired Brooklyn's collections of asymmetrical skirts but somehow I found them hard to source (at least in colours or patterns that would work for me or fabrics casual enough for my lifestyle).

I wish I had more of this style! Will keep looking....

Yep, patting myself on the back here because this is exactly what I was expecting would happen with that blue skirt in your wardrobe. (Now if only I had such clairvoyance about my own wardrobe purchases!) Love all three of these renditions and I'm tickled of hat you're enjoying your skirt so much -- great that it works seamlessly with both new and old items.

Vis a vis the skirt : I knew it ! I think I might need this myself . Are you wearing a Small ?

  • Angie replied 12 months ago

KILLER with the denim jacket especially, Suz. Elegant and pretty!

And you almost sent the skirt back.......... HAHAHAHA :)

Yes to it being the update to the tube skirt!

LOVING that the new shoes are working out too!

Nice!! Glad the skirt is already a basis for super cute outfits! Also, I admire how you get such a perfect semi tuck that even looks good from the side and back. Mine are ok from the front but never good from other angles.

That skirt is perfect on you! It looks beautiful and totally versatile. The asymmetry gives it a special something.

Really nice outfits! It's so great the skirt is already a workhorse!

  • sabimct replied 12 months ago

    Just lovely!

Did you purchase the BR striped shirt?  I think I have seen it in stores now, and am sorely tempted, but I already have too many blue and white striped items in my wardrobe :)

  • BlueJay replied 12 months ago

Ooh fun! I am going to copy you with my skirt. ;)

  • Brooklyn replied 12 months ago

I’m so glad (and not surprised) the skirt is working out for you. Love your denim jacket too.

  • catherine replied 12 months ago

Cool outfits. Those Cole Haan sneaks look so dainty, which I love.

  • Irina replied 12 months ago

Nice! It works so well for you!

  • Carol replied 12 months ago

You are really selling that asymmetrical skirt. I might have to get one! Did you wear the cropped BR shirt with this skirt? Because that sounds cute.

  • Suz replied 12 months ago

Thanks, all! The skirt is really inexpensive, too -- makes it a double win.

And cross seasonal in my climate -- it will be too hot to wear it in full summer but that season is short (ish) here (depending...). So thanks for the inspiration, Brooklyn

Lisa, yes, I got the size S. It is generous with an elastic (but not gathered) waist. Stretches.

BlueJay, that looks like a gorgeous skirt! Wow! I am honoured if you copy cat me.

Catherine, the Naturalizer sneakers are relatively dainty for a shoe with a slight platform. They are the perfect mix, for me.

sabimet, yes, I did buy the blue striped shirt from BR. I like it. Good for very hot days because it stands away from the body. I also have a lot of blue striped shirts. Oh well. :)

Oh super cute outfits, love that this skirt has become an unexpected workhorse already.

  • Janet replied 12 months ago

I like that a lot! Would consider it myself, as it looks like it dresses down nicely.

  • Bonnie replied 12 months ago

Now that is a great skirt and it looks wonderful the way you styled it.

  • Vicki replied 12 months ago

Extraordinary looks and you wear them well, Suz. I LOVE that skirt on you and, of course, I’m meowing LOUDLY over that out-of-stock blouse.

  • Jessikams replied 12 months ago

I can see how that skirt could become a workhorse. I have a couple of black tube dresses that do the same: dress up or down, super comfortable and stretchy, etc.

  • slim cat replied 12 months ago

Total love ( especially with light denim jacket ;-)  )!

  • Jaime replied 12 months ago

Fantastic! The denim jacket is the perfect proportion with it. I see a workhorse in the making.

  • lyn67 replied 12 months ago

I just adore that skirt(and looks so fab on You)-an updated artsy tube would be my dream to put my little paws on it, too!

  • Helena replied 12 months ago

LOVE this top on you Suz! Fabulous when a new purchase earns its keep right out of the gate, too.
