Picasso Challenge 2: Woman with a book

Today's offering!

Nothing fancy, but once again Ms. Mary's magic scarf comes to my rescue! The shoes are necessary; we are going walking later on. Not fashionable, but red!  Full disclosure, I will probably change into jeans before our walk since we'll be visiting some dusty places. :)

In answer to a few questions on my last thread.

1. No, my hair is not lighter. It just looks lighter because there is more light here than there is at home! Big window, white wall. More actual and more reflected light.

2. No, that is not a Picasso beside me on the wall. But it's a fun, colourful print that certainly works with today's challenge!

3. There is hope that I will have my passport in time to travel. If all goes well I will be on the plane to go home as planned. It was an expensive loss but, as one of DH's relatives used to say, "If you can fix it with money, it's not all bad."

Another brilliant interpretation, Suz, and I think it's awesome you are doing the challenge while travelling!

I'm so glad to hear there's good news about your passport too (we're all holding thumbs here). You have been handling that stressful situation with aplomb. My hat is off to you!

The smile on your face says it all: You are having a great time, in spite of your passport troubles! And you look fantastic too. That scarf is perfect for this challenge.

That scarf has worked it's magic once again, Suz.  It's perfect for this challenge, as is your choice of book and the helpful modern print in the background.  You are very resourceful.

Good luck with the passport.  I hope it all works out.

Nailed it! You can't nail everything with a travel wardrobe ..... you simply can't! Can you? :-)

I love the prop :-) And YLF! Fingers crossed all works well with the passport!

You look radiant and I was thinking that perhaps you have changed your makeup but it must be the lighting.
Great interpretation of Picasso challenge and hope you get your passport soon.

    *clapping hands*

This is fabulous Suz and then knowing you're doing this challenge while on your trip makes it even better!

The scarf really brings in the colors of the painting.  So glad to hear that your passport snafu is almost sorted out.

Are you kidding me? How on earth are you managing this challenge from your suitcase? Amazing and fab!

Wow Suz, well done! So happy about your passport too :) (but not the expense :()

Nice travel outfit!  And I'm going to keep that quote as one of my new mantras:  If you can fix a problem with money, it's not that bad.  LOVE IT!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

    Thank you all!

Kirstjen, it's a great mantra, but it would help if we actually HAD money. Ha!

Oh well. The most important gifts are health and loved ones nearby and those I have at the moment! :)

Bravo, Suz! You get an A+!

    You look fab!

It's interesting what colours people pick out of this painting...

  • Diana replied 9 years ago

Well done!  And on a travel wardrobe no less!

Fingers crossed the passport comes in time.  And I agree, if you can solve it with money, it's not that bad.  (Do you remember when I lost my passport AND all my money/cards?  That was a bad couple of days... once I got some money it was much better, and replacing the passport was a breeze.)

Hah. Queen Radiant Health is super fun - and all the way from Israel too. Very nicely done. You have a good sense of humour.

    Glad the passport is sorted.

Sorry for the late weigh in, Suz: my online service is down so I'm behind. Just wanted to say how much I love the scarf and your super chic touring look. Hope you're having fun!

Rising to the challenge without a closet to play in?  That's awesome!

Everyone needs a pair of shoes like yours --- and they're perfect for dusty hikes.  Love the light in your photo!

I've always thought that my color palette would have to change if I moved to a different climate -- not just because of the different sense of season, but due to the difference in the quality of light.  In norther Michigan, the summer light is so bright and almost blue-clear.  In Florida, it is warm and yellowish.  In Chicago?  Most of the year we fight with a greyness in the lighting, which is why kept to taupe as a neutral for my walls, even though greys are trendier.

What colors are they wearing in Jerusalem?
