Short puffer switcheroo and earth tones my way.

Count me as one of those who used to scoff at the short puffer. What on earth is that for? If it is cold enough for down, I need my bum covered! Said, obviously, by one who walks (and rarely drives) and lives in a cold climate.

Fast forward to a new climate. Now my short packable puffer is one of my most worn jackets. I wear it on its own and I layer over and under it.

Saturday I had to be out all day and night with no returns home. The day was sunny and crisp but the night was going to be cool. So I stuffed my puffer in my bag and brought it with me for a quick change up! Worked easily.

Next day's outfit for daytime only. That consignment jacket is an autumn workhorse.

Absolutely fabulous; love them both but no one could make gray and white glow the way do!!

  • Joy replied 4 years ago

So fabulous. I find those packable puffers magical. They can adjust to layers under them or fit under another coat like a hoody. A puffer vest can also be layered over the jacket. The grey and white with the berry scarf is dreamy. Love that bag too.

Packing your packable puffer was smart! And what a stunning color with both looks! I envy how you have such a beautiful assortment of outfits across such a tight colour palette.

Fantastic all the way around.  And I have to say again how much I like your hair this way - it  lends real drama and I think it really suits you.

Great color coordinated outfits! Since I currently loving long toppers ( dusters, shirts, cardigans) #1 and #2 - are my favorites. Short berry puffer is made for you!

    You look amazing, Suz.

  • Angie replied 4 years ago

(I was a short puffer scoffer in the beginning too.....Then I saw the light)

You have KILLER style, Suz. Full stop.

The snake skin boots bookend the new dramatic two-toned hair sooo well. LOVE!

I see style evolution, sweet Suz: more maximal outfits, pattern mixing, accessorizing, bling, and colour. A little more drape and playfulness too. Still equal parts trendy and classic, casual and dressy, always polished, sharp, radiant, confident and at ease. Sublime!

Suz, these outfits are fantastic! You look absolutely gorgeous. I love all of them.
You have such an amazing wardrobe. I love this scarf on you - what a great scarf, it works with and ties together so many outfits. I also admire your carefully chosen color palette. The berry sweater with the toffee blazer and clear blue jeans is a heavenly combination. I think this might be my favorite set of outfits! Or have I already said that before :-) ? And the consignment blazer is soo great...

    Sooo fab!

All great looks!  Your snakeskin boots are so dramatic!  Nice switch between the long cardigan and short puffer.  Interesting how such a simple change makes such a big difference in the vibe of your outfit.

So good, Suz!  I love them all!

  • Bonnie replied 4 years ago

I think these outfits are terrific.

  • Runcarla replied 4 years ago

Something in blue or grey was what I expected, but SURPRISE - your puffer is raspberry! Brilliant metamorphosis over the course of a changeable day.

  • The Cat replied 4 years ago

#1 is my favourite. Relaxed elegance. And your gorgeous styling makes you look very slim and tall!

  • ChristelJ replied 4 years ago

Can I just say you ooze style? Always, flawlessly.

Those outfits look so comfy and great for Fall. Outfit 3 is my favorite, the way the red puffer, blue jeans, white shirt, and black belt all match perfectly and give a patriotic look too :) The booties are cute!

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Thanks for your kind compliments! Joy, you are so right about packable puffers. And Lisa, thanks re the hair. Katerina, you are the scarf genius so you truly appreciate how versatile this particular scarf is. I didn't anticipate it -- it has become one of those unexpected workhorses for precisely the reason you mention.

    Angie, I am blushing! Thanks.

Cranberry really suits you - puffer, sweater, scarf all look fab! Well everything looks fab - including your hair!

  • unfrumped replied 4 years ago

Love the gray cardigan with your snake booties!
I have a lightweight packable down jacket, which is fine. What I don’t “get” as much are the very WARM, very puffy short puffers except I guess ski-wear when people wear insulated pants. But would be seasonally confusing for me with just jeans.

  • kellygirl replied 4 years ago

Wow, both booties seem to bookend. Love both of these--they;re different but each fab in their own way. The snakeskin booties are just so awesome on you--I want hair like yours! Thanks for sharing. Your outfits are such a treat!

  • Gigi replied 4 years ago

These are all amazing outfits! The proportions are spot on, and I love how the colors work with your new hair. The snakeskin booties work especially well!

I think my fave is the middle one, with the cranberry, though they are all wonderful.

ETA: I'm another one who (still) doesn't get the short puffer, lol.

All of it is so fab! Love your outfits.

  • Mainelady replied 4 years ago

Beautiful berry short puffer! It is amazing how frequently I pull mine out, too. Suz, your gray and white.......stunning on you always and inspiring. You take these light neutrals to eye catching new heights. Fabuloso!

  • Bijou replied 4 years ago

I have to agree with what everyone has written. You look amazing in all of these. #1 is stunning - as TG said - no one could make grey and white look as fab as this. Those new snakeskin boots are so fun, especially with the new two toned hair. I like how the colour seems to have settled down a little now.

What a great set of outfits, Suz!  You look so put together, with variety yet cohesiveness.  I love how that scarf ties so much together.

RE the short puffer... I think when puffers "came out", we all thought "warm!" so that means butt-covering.  But now they are so ubiquitous, there are more options for all types of weather, and in the fall short almost makes almost more sense (long looks like overkill).  I've had a short one for years, and love it at this time of year.  I also wear it a lot under a raincoat (gear) when it's raining and in single digits... you know, that damp cold that seeps through everything. Anyway... I love the colour of yours.

  • RobinF replied 4 years ago

Love that color on you and it mixes in with your other wardrobe colors so perfectly. You always look so fabulous.

I'm another one hesitant about short puffers. Isn't is a pain to have to remove your long cardi to wear the puffer? That is what I would be afraid of.

  • lyn67 replied 4 years ago

Love earthies  your way!!!! I would say a cooler toned earthy is your way, and I just love it! And, Angie said it so well, booties bookend your hair in the most sublime way! YLF!!!

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Robin, it didn't feel like a pain to take off the cardigan, no -- I just stuffed it into my bag. (Oh, a big bag....) I guess it is all relative...it would have been a much bigger pain to be freezing cold at night on the way home, or to have to go back home and miss events I didn't want to miss...)

I could have layered it over the sweater, for that matter, but didn't really need that much warmth.

Elizabeth, I hear you. I also layer my puffers under rain gear-- both this one, and my light North Face puffer. Makes sense!
