WIW: Just flattering enough version north

You knew I'd have to do this, right?

Sigh. I wanted to get a picture with my peacoat, not that it is as gorgeous and luxe as Angie's. But the weather gods really did not cooperate. My outfit is for sure an indoor outfit only today -- there's a lot of snow and ice on the ground and it was -22. Too cold even for my wool peacoat and certainly for anything but snow boots and a puffer outdoors.

And so. This is the indoor version.

No fab photographer, either, alas.

My version includes: Equipment Sloane sweater, Zara ink booties (a la Angie). My own premium skinnies, a lighter wash but very similar fit: CoH Racer Patina. LOVE these jeans. And my luxe Reiss jacket. Along with silver cuff and pewter Fossil belt. C'est tout. Mais, c'est formidable, je comprends.

    Looking good Suz.

  • Staysfit replied 9 years ago

Oh Suz, you are every bit as lovely as Angie! Hopefully you are staying warm. Sounds like the cold blast we had last night headed your way. It was -20F here last night.

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

Okay, wow, have you shown that sweater with the silver belt before? Because I'm liking the shine but low contrast--very nice.

  • frannieb replied 9 years ago

love your version - Stay warm.

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

Oh you totally had to :D

  • Joyce B replied 9 years ago

It's more than flattering, you look fab!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

    HAH.

(Do you mean Just Fashionable Enough - if you are quoting from today's blog post? That's what I wrote).

    A very biased Killer. xo

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

    Oui, c'est formidable!!!

    Gorgeous, Suz!!! Well played :)

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Oh, yes. HAPPY DAYS thinking of us shopping together for your Reiss jacket. xo

  • sarah replied 9 years ago

Freaky. I think I have the very same belt and wear it with that same sweater all the time.

    Lookin' good!

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Looking fab Suz. Just for fun you need to do a separated at birth shot with Angie :) :)

  • UmmLila (Lisa) replied 9 years ago

I definitely need to involve a belt with this look, next time around. I see that it adds a lot in both your and Angie's scenarios. You look great, too!

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

I'll second that - yes, It is great!  It is an ultra fashionable, ultra flattering outfit.  Every element works in perfect harmony.

Suz, it was -14 here this morning, and that's Fahrenheit! I think we need a Florida meet-up :)

  • merwoman replied 9 years ago

    Gorgeous!! Love the indoor version!

  • carter replied 9 years ago

Oui! C'est magnifique! You could also call this Canadian indoor version the Southern Winter version;-)

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Ha, Carter, you are so right. And Karie, so are you. Maybe we really should rendevous with Carter and co. in Atlanta....alas, I am travelling in March so probably can't manage another trip, or I would be seriously tempted. Actually, I am tempted. But probably not able.

Angie, now that is a Freudian slip of major proportions, isn't it! Just FASHIONABLE enough it is. Flattering or not! And thank you for humouring me by allowing me to show that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Sarah, I want to see your version, too! :)

    And you, too, Ummlila

Caro, you're on. Next meet up.

Joyce, Jackie, rachy, Staysfit, Frannie, shedev, thanks!

Lovely!  And here - *puff* - blowing warmish Manitoba weather your way. -3C right now!

  • Windchime replied 9 years ago

That sweater and outfit is beautiful on you, Suz! I always enjoy seeing the same piece styled by different Fabbers. Hmm...I'm also fascinated to hear the same piece of music performed by different musicians...So my curious mind wonders if you would you have thought to style it like this without Angie's post this a.m? If not, What would you have done differently?

  • Sharon replied 9 years ago

You look lovely, Suz. The jacket makes it slightly dressier to my eye and works beautifully with the shine of the boots. Can't imagine living somewhere that cold!

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

More than fashionable AND flattering enough. The jeans are excellent and the rest of the pieces are clearly superb!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Sharon, thanks. I think we need to trade places for a few days some time. :) And closets. You will need my cashmeres, and I will need your lovely trapeze tops!

Windchime, I would absolutely have thought to wear this exact outfit -- and have in fact worn it just like that at other times. :) Just as for Angie, this is a FFB formula-type outfit for me -- jeans, jacket (or coat), luxe sweater, belt, current footwear. And this sweater was made for jeans, in my opinion. I have also worn it with grey jeans, darker wash jeans, lighter wash jeans, distressed jeans, white jeans, cream jeans, and black pants. It works pretty well with lots of things.

Lisa -- that warm in the 'Peg? Surely good things will come to us then, if I wait...

  • Sveta replied 9 years ago

Looking fab from here too, Suz. Does this sweater see a lot of action or what? You were a smart cookie to follow Angie's lead on this one!
-22C here too for 2 days - although it warmed up tonight to -18C.
Major style damper this winter weather is :-(

  • Rubygirl replied 9 years ago

Love that sweater. You are sure getting lots of wear from it.  It was cold here today as well. It only threatened the snow a bit on my walk to work. I was layered up for my walk to work including wearing a pair of wool long johns . I do think it was cooler where you are as it usually is cooler than us. Ottawa is always cooler than us as well.

  • Elizabeth P replied 9 years ago

Reporting in from a balmy -4 to say that this so much fun! I love seeing copycat flattering fabulous outfits.

  • Joy replied 9 years ago

Suz, this is winter fashion, warm and comfortable at -20, at its pinnacle. Your gorgeous navy jacket stood in for Angie's Burberry beautifully. It almost makes me wish that I lived in your climate.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

Suz, your version is fantastic. And I would really like to have that belt! It's the missing link in my wardrobe.

  • abc replied 9 years ago

Looks great! Now I'm inspired to put a blazer over this sweater (twin with you and Angie).

    Stay warm.

  • ElleH replied 9 years ago

It is great on you. I too copy Angie's outfits when I need inspiration. So fab you had some of the same pieces. Your peacoat may not be as Luxe as Angie's but that Reiss blazer looks gorgeous on you & enables you to wear a puffer & then have a jacket underneath when you remove it.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Really nice Suz.  Love that sweatshirt.  Your blazer looks great and simply creates a slightly different vibe.  Love it.

  • Helena replied 9 years ago

    Twinsies!! Love it :D

Much more chic for cold weather than my hoodie today ... brrrr ... it's awful!!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

I think the outfit is very flattering. xo

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Why do you consider this merely JFE?  It's fantastic and you are every bit Angie's match here.  :)

  • gardenchick replied 9 years ago

Lovely! I like the sweater with jeans and belt...fun shades of blue and grey.

  • Vicki replied 9 years ago

Voila Suz a la Angie!  Magnifique!  I was chuckling at Angie's first comment (love it and she's got the BEST sense of humor!) and I used my Google Translate for JFE:  "juste assez à la mode!

I've seen your peacoat and it's stunning, so you've got all the essential parts.

  • replied 9 years ago

Hehe! I knew you had all the same pieces... Awesome!

  • Mona replied 9 years ago

Were you and Angie twins in previous life??? You carry the outfit with same beauty and grace as Angie does. Fahionable and flattering.

  • Tanya replied 9 years ago

Lovely version. I think it is very flattering, wouldn't call it JFE. Hope you are staying warm!
